Nature is a wonderous thing!

20 MPH winds from the north couldn’t stop our paddling adventure today on the mighty St Johns. The river with all its twists, turns and backwaters made for some calm areas in which to explore. With the warm sun shining down on us we headed off to find the wildlife which was also trying to escape the winds of the day. Great Blue Herons are nesting and decked out in their breeding plums. The Great Egrets, Little Blue Herons, Green Herons and Snowy Egrets are all looking sharp this spring and we must have seen 100 White Ibis. The Turtles were out sunning today and the Ospreys were flying overhead. After a little break we headed downstream and were greeted by a Manatee. She was decorated with Duck Weed as she came up for a breath. We got to watch her surface several times as we headed to our get out spot. It was a beautiful day to spend with Mother Nature!
